Building a directory structure. Create a folder of US; create 3 states folder within the US folder; select one state folder and create three cities for that state within it. Create a word document about one of the cities and save it to the correct folder.

Basics of Microsoft Word

Launch Microsoft Word. Review the menu bar, document window, toolbar. Demonstrate use of keyboard shortcuts and menu character selection. Explain what ellipsis indicate and use of dialog boxes.

Create a new Microsoft Word Document. Type in several sentences about a favorite hobby or sport.

The basics two tasks: Select what you want to work with (text, paragraph, etc.) and apply the command (menu, toolbar icon, right-click).

Practice selecting words and characters. Format selected characters and apply formats from the Font menu item under the Format menu.
